Samhain Storytelling and Crafts (Halloween)

Come along to Jarrow Hall and hear tales from Samhain, thought to be the Celtic New Year and Halloween. The storytellers will explore how pagan and Christian traditions have come together to make the festival we know today.

This event is most suitable for children aged 5 - 12 and their families. Younger and older children are welcome to attend, however there will be some mild peril in the storytelling.

The event takes place in the museum building, where craft activities will be available and in the Anglo-Saxon Village where, inside the beautiful Thirlings Mead Hall, you will listen to some legendary storytelling with a warm drink!

You will need to wear appropriate footwear and outdoor clothing for the lantern lit walk down through the farm to Thirlings Mead Hall. The route will be lit by lanterns however please bring a torch.

The event will start at time advertised. Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your timeslot.

There are two timeslots 4pm arrival and 5pm arrival. The events will last 1.5hrs.
