Southtyneside Tourist Bus

For beautiful beaches, dramatic coastal scenery plus leisure and heritage attractions, hop on the new circular Tourist Bus this summer and take advantage of the many fantastic cultural experiences in South Tynesidel

The bus will pass the following attractions on its route:

  • The Customs House, South Shields Metro station and town centre, South Shields Museum & Art Gallery (all within a short walk of the Customs House stop)
  • Arbeia Roman Fort
  • South Shields seafront (Sandhaven Beach, Ocean Beach Pleasure Park, North Marine Park, South Marine Park and Bents Park)
  • Souter Lighthouse and Marsden Rock,
  • Temple Park Leisure Centre
  • Bede's World and St Paul's Church and Monastic Site

  • The service operates an hourly service on Sunday 6 July, Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 July. An hourly daily service operates between Saturday 19 July and Sunday 31 August.

    Fares

  • Adult single - £1.50
  • child single - 75p
  • £3.50 day ticket (hop on hop off)
  • £8 Family ticket (2 adults & up to 3 children)

    Valid Network Traveltickets are accepted.
    Tyne and Wear Concessionary Travel Passes are also valid on this service which means CT passholders can use the service for free after 9.30am Monday to Friday and all day at weekends.
