The Customs House is at the heart of South Tyneside's cultural activity, situated in a listed building in a beautiful location overlooking the River Tyne.
The venue houses a 440 seat theatre, cinema, art gallery, restaurant & bar plus a fantastic rooms suitable for wedding receptions, conferences and celebrations.

The Customs House encourages everyone to get involved with a whole host of great activities as part of its Cultural Development Programme. Singing, drama, ukulele groups and dance classes are just a few of the sessions currently on offer!
Just a stone's throw away from the Customs House is Harton Quays Park, a new addition to the riverside area offering stunning river views, water features and open-air theatre for summer performances. There's also a number of traditional wine bars and pubs which offer real ales, whiskeys, live music and fantastic atmospheres close by.

Box Office open Wednesday to Saturday 11am to 8pm, Sunday to Tuesday 11am to 6pm. On performance days the box office is open until 8pm.
The Gallery is open on performance days 10am to 8.30pm. On non-performance days, Sundays and Bank Holidays it is open 11am to 6pm.
The Green Room is open 11am to late on performance days and 11am to 4pm on non performance days.
